Derryfield Welcomes New & Returning Faculty

Derryfield is pleased to welcome seven new, or returning, members of the faculty and staff.

Tiernan Benoit returns this year as an academic skills teacher and assistant to the athletic director. Benoit is finishing his degrees in communications and psychology this fall at SNHU, and previously worked for four years as a banking service representative.

Louisa Burdette returns to the Derryfield community, having taught English at the school from 2013 to 2020. She earned her BA from Princeton University, a master’s in teaching from Brown University, and a certificate in media studies from Plymouth State University. Burdette will serve as the Director of Research and Opportunities.

Molly Egger, a ntaive of Los Angeles, CA, comes to Derryfield from the Carrollton School in Miami, FL, where she has been teaching honors US and world history. Egger graduated cum laude from Williams College in 2020. She will teach history, and will help coach the Derryfield crew team.

Mike Jenkins, after a career as an engineer, transitioned to education in 2020, and has been teaching seventh grade math at McLaughlin Middle School in Manchester. He earned his BS in civil engineering from the University of Maine. Jenkins will teach math in the Middle School.

Laura Reuland will teach Spanish in the Upper School. Previously she taught Spanish and English at Cushing Academy, and before that was an associate attorney at Bingham McCutchen LLP. Reuland has a BA in English literature and Spanish from the University of Virginia, an MA in Latin American literature from Georgetown University, and a JD from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

Brianna Rourke joins Derryfield as the school nurse. For the last few years she has worked as the lead pediatric nurse at Core Physicians in Exeter, NH. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In addition to serving as the school nurse, Rourke will be co-teaching seventh grade LEAD.

Chris Morash has been working as an athletic trainer at the collegiate and secondary school levels for the past eight years, after graduating from Liberty University
in Virginia with a BS in athletic training.
