Chef Shana Walsh, a graduate of the notable Johnson & Wales University culinary program, has taken over the helm at the Matarese Dining Commons. Chef Walsh comes to Derryfield with over twenty years of experience, including five years as the catering chef at Phillips Exeter Academy, eight years as the chef for the Alpha Phi sorority at UNH, and most recently, ten years as a chef manager with Nexdine, where she planned and executed functions for up to 1200 people. In her free time, Walsh is the varsity soccer coach at a local high school.

Chef Walsh commented,

“I love being in a school environment, where I have the opportunity to get kids excited about experiencing new food options. Students bring so much energy and enthusiasm to the mid-day meal. I especially enjoy their silly sense of humor.”
