Three members of the senior class, Jackson Rogers, William Zhang and Eddie Zhan, were named Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. They will now advance to the competition for a National Merit Scholarship. These academically talented students have an opportunity to continue in the competition for about 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth approximately $24 million. In February 2027, Semifinalists who meet academic and other requirements will be notified if they have advanced to Finalist standing, and will receive Certificates of Merit attesting to their recognition in the program. All National Merit Scholarship winners will be chosen from this group of Finalists, based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments.
Additionally, senior Kelsey Beekman received a letter of commendation. More than one million students take the PSAT/NMSQT every year, and approximately 34,000 are named Commended Students, “in recognition of their outstanding academic promise.”
