School Nurse
Position Title: School Nurse

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The priority for the school nurse is to oversee and provide for the individual health needs of students and provide for the
promotion and maintenance of good health as well as the prevention of illness and injuries. This facilitates learning and
promoting an optimal level of wellness for students and staff.
● Organizes, administers, and manages school health services.
● Responsible for appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management, and referral activities for students in the school.
● Responsible for direct and indirect care given to students in compliance with school policies, professional standards or practice, physician’s orders and the Individual Health Plan.
● Comply with professional nursing practice standards, guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
● Functions in accordance with New Hampshire Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, and the school policies and procedures.
● Promotes and maintains good health as well as the prevention of illnesses and injuries.
● Formulates, revises, and implements Individual Health Plans.
● Inputs the health screenings, physical examinations, and immunization records into the school database. (Magnus)
● Participates in the development of an ongoing student safety and child protection program.
● Acts in a manner that respects the dignity, confidentiality, and rights of all students and staff.
● Upholds regulations and laws related to confidentiality, reporting of child abuse and neglect, and other health-related requirements.
● Provides leadership in the planning of proper emergency care and first aid for student illnesses and accidents incurred during school activities.
● Ensures the maintenance of accurate health records for all children and the submission of all reports relating to the health of children to the state or other appropriate agencies.
● May provide in-service training for health-related issues to staff members.
● Assists in the preparation and implementation of the school health services budget.
● Monitors, reports, and recommends changes for safety hazards and sanitary conditions in the school environment.
● Maintains student’s confidential files and records (e.g. health care plans, agency referrals, accident reports, immunizations, physical exams, etc.).
POSSIBLE DUTIES AND OPPORTUNITIES:
● Advise 6-10 students or co-advise
● Teach or co-teach a section of LEAD (Health) class
● Additional duties as assigned
GENERAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/APTITUDES:
● Experienced RN, with two to three years of prior experience in the areas of pediatrics and/or emergency care
● Registered Nurse (RN) currently licensed in the State of New Hampshire
● Current CPR, AED certification
● Graduate of an accredited nursing program
● Bachelor’s Degree required
● Energetic, patient and inspiring leader
● Knowledge of and/or experience in schools preferred but not required
● Works in clear alignment with institutional objectives, strategies and goals
● Highly collaborative and team-oriented style
● Knowledge and skills to evaluate and treat a variety of medical conditions

Position Title: Coordinator of Philanthropy Services

Summary Description:
Derryfield seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented Coordinator of Philanthropy Services to join our four-person team. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy & Engagement, this role is the cornerstone of our office operations, managing our constituent database, gift processing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills to interact with donors, and will serve as a key member of our team, providing essential support for events, mailings, and administrative tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Accurately manage and maintain the school’s constituent database, including data entry for all gifts (annual, capital, in-kind, and endowment).
- Gift Processing: Process weekly gifts, generate and send timely acknowledgment letters.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly reports, reconcile with the Business Office, and assist with documentation for the annual audit.
- Donor and Community Relations: Act as a liaison with donors regarding gift execution, pledge reminders, prepare and send annual endowment reports, provide event assistance, and update life events and achievements of alumni and students in the database.
- Administrative Support: Manage office operations and support key projects, including data cleanup, pulling mailing lists, and assisting with industry-wide analysis (DASL/INDEX).
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with Admission, Business, and Academic administration to improve data flow and standards across departments.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Breakthrough Manchester Support
The Coordinator of Philanthropy Services serves as a key administrative liaison for Breakthrough Manchester, which is a summer program hosted on the Derryfield campus. This role ensures that all gifts made to Breakthrough are processed and acknowledged with the same level of care as those for The Derryfield School.
Key duties include:
- Gift Entry: Accurately entering all donations designated for Breakthrough Manchester into the database, distinguishing them from Derryfield’s general funds.
- Acknowledgement: Preparing and delivering a clean, accurate, and ready-to-use dataset that allows the Breakthrough team to seamlessly generate their thank-you letters.
- Reporting: Creating lists for Breakthrough’s annual report.
- Data Management: Ensuring that donor information for Breakthrough is clean, up-to-date, and correctly linked within the main database to maintain a unified and accurate record of all supporters.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
- Proven experience managing detail-oriented systems, especially a complex database like Raiser’s Edge.
- Strong background working with financial data and tracking.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of constituents, including students, parents, board members, and donors.
- A willingness to take on a variety of tasks and collaborate as part of a high-functioning team.
- Must possess a desire to learn and grow, have a sense of humor, and be self motivated.
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office products preferred.

Breakthrough Manchester - Program Director
FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt, 12 months with generous benefits.
Organization Profile:
Breakthrough Manchester is a six-year, summer-intensive, tuition-free academic program with year-round support for promising middle and high school students with limited opportunities. These motivated students are in turn taught by talented high school and college students who are trained and mentored by Breakthrough staff and professional educators. Through this unique “students-teaching-students” model, the program provides a path to college for its younger students while inspiring older students to consider careers in teaching and educational leadership. Breakthrough Manchester is an affiliate of the Breakthrough Collaborative, a national network of programs that touch the lives of thousands of youth through this model. The Derryfield School founded Breakthrough Manchester and has been its host and partner since the program’s inception in 1991. The independent program falls under Derryfield’s 501c3 umbrella. In 2016, Breakthrough Manchester College-Bound was established at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) to provide ongoing programming for Breakthrough students through high school and college matriculation. In addition to Derryfield and SNHU, Breakthrough partners with the Manchester School District to support students and families.
The Program Director’s position is multi-faceted:
The Program Director is responsible for the planning and operational management of the middle school academic program, including school-year Saturdays and the 9-week intensive summer session. Responsibilities include hiring and supervising seasonal staff, managing interns and/or work-study students, recruiting and retaining students, developing framework schedules and transportation routes, tracking metrics of student success, maintaining collaborative relationships with Manchester middle and high schools, coordinating with the College-Bound Breakthrough program hosted at SNHU, providing logistical support to the Executive Director and assisting with advancement projects and other initiatives that support the overall institutional success of Breakthrough.
- Manage the recruitment and admission process for a cohort of new sixth graders from Manchester public schools each year while also managing the retention of current seventh and eighth graders in the program
- Manage the selection of area high school students as school-year teachers and advisors to Breakthrough students
- In partnership with the Executive Director manage the recruitment, selection and hiring of college undergraduates for the 9-week, stipended summer Teaching Fellowship
- Work closely with students and families to communicate programmatic events and information
- Ensure effective program assessment and evaluation
- Design training sessions during Teaching Fellow orientation and throughout School Year Program
- Work with Instructional Coach to support and develop the program’s young faculty, throughout school-year program
- Plan and oversee program calendars, schedules, space, and all logistics
- Supervise temporary and seasonal assistants (work-study students, operations assistants, etc.)
- Recruit and supervise volunteers for Breakthrough recruitment and other occasional events
- Support a successful and productive learning community that values high expectations, perseverance, leadership, and collaboration for both students and Teaching Fellows
- Coordinate efforts with each of the Manchester School District’s middle schools to follow students’ academic progress, recommending or providing additional support as needed
- Contribute ideas, concepts and artifacts for the development of program materials including brochures, annual reports, and newsletters, working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Communications
- Collaborate with the Breakthrough Collaborative and other affiliates on conference calls and attend national conferences (1-2 per year)
- Work closely with the Breakthrough College-Bound Administrator at SNHU to develop annual objectives and align student transition to the high school program
- Support Breakthrough’s Strategic Planning by working with Executive Director and Advisory Committee to lead appropriate strands of the Plan
- Be a positive ambassador throughout the Manchester Community for Breakthrough Manchester, promoting the program’s mission and advocating for student success
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of teaching and/or education administration experience at the middle or high school level, or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of diversity, belonging, equity, and inclusion practices
- Prior experience with Breakthrough or similar intensive academic/youth organization with a focus on equitable access
- Proven management, organizational, and leadership skills, including the ability to initiate and follow through on ideas and complex projects
- Ability to work effectively in many different environments with people from diverse backgrounds (ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, professional, generational)
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- A strong sense of purpose and vision for expanding educational opportunities for youth
- Creativity, enthusiasm and resilience
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including multiple evenings and occasional Saturdays

Compensation:
