The Derryfield School, under the by-laws of the NHIAA, has joined with Hollis/Brookline HS to form a varsity co-operative Ice Hockey team. The team known as the HBDS Warriors and will participate in the NH Division III. Derryfield previously has had a hockey team, but competed as a club team, playing the JV teams of other schools, but never had enough numbers to sustain a varsity program. Hollis/Brookline has had a varsity team for several years but just last year, due to a drop in numbers, was forced to withdraw from the league and finish the season with a JV schedule. This co-operative program allows both schools to offer a full varsity program, hoping to create enough interest to help the program grow in both schools. Many players from both schools play hockey for travel and various club teams. This initiative provides an opportunity for players to represent their school which they might not have been able to do. New Head Coach, Joel Sanborn assisted by Derek Lautieri will lead the Warriors into battle this 2018-19 season. Go Warriors!!
