    2020 - 2021
    Head Coach: James Watt

Starting as a club sport in 1985, the girls' varsity soccer team has experienced significant success. The team was officially recognized by the NHIAA in 1986; the Cougars earned ten state titles (some at the higher combined MS level) between 1989 and 2001. Recently, Derryfield has earned Division IV state titles in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2014. Derryfield's successful strategy is based on recognizing where and when the next best pass will lead to a scoring opportunity. We are also fortunate to have players that love the game and play spring soccer on ODP and their town club teams. Several of our players have experienced success at the collegiate level, playing for Duke, UConn, Middlebury, Williams, Boston University, West Point, Union, and Trinity. Jim Watt started as the Head Coach in the fall of 2018.

  • Derryfield vs. Raymond

GSO concluded the season with a 4-1 loss to Raymond yesterday.  Raymond scored the first goal against the run of play 35 minutes in, and took that lead into halftime.  DS battled back to tie the game at 1 when Lucy Licata barreled her way through the midfield and a low shot to the corner past a diving Raymond keeper.

The game got intense at that point, and DS had no answer for Raymond's #21 who took control of the game in the final 15 minutes with a fantastic individual effort to score multiple times.

Thank you to the Head of School, the AD, parents, trainers, and assistant coaches for providing our team with the protocols to conduct a safe season during the time of COVID.  It was a wonderful experience for our girls.
