The Girls Lacrosse team traveled to Concord this rainy afternoon to take on Concord Christian Academy, our second game against them in as many weeks. CCA came out on top 9-6 in our last match, so the Cougars arrived with something to prove.
The game was back and forth from the first minute, and ultimately went to overtime, where CCA gained possession off the draw and put a quick one in the net to seal the game 12-11. Cougars drop to 9-7 on the season with one game to play against Nashua North on Friday 5/26, 4PM at Derryfield.
Derryfield goals were scored by Kira Geddes (1), Alex Benson (3), Christine Nadeau (1), Chloe Bremberg (2), and Lilly Handwerk (4). Assists were contributed by Teagan Peabody, Benson, and Bremberg.
Pebody, Bri Murray, and Nadeau picked up 8 draw controls with Sarah Naje picking up 5 ground balls to get the ball to the offensive end. Alyssa Shula picked up 1 round ball and Murray picked up 2. Lilly Handwerk had 1 interception.
Lily Kfoury stopped 5 shots in the game.
The Cougars played the full 50 minutes plus as a team with grit and heart.
