Nordic - Varsity
2022 - 2023Head Coach: Peter BreuDerryfield's Varsity Nordic team seeks to inspire a love of cross-country skiing through instruction and practice in both classic track and freestyle skate disciplines. The best nordic racers in the state race side by side with beginners. Our season begins with daily dry land exercises and a careful series of imitation ski techniques that include roller ski practice. We move to snow as soon as the weather permits, practicing at on our own ski trails when conditions allow, skiing right out the back door of school on excellent trails. Our races are held on some of the best of nordic trails in New England, and we schedule local races when the snow quality permits. We are a cohesive and supportive team that enjoys being together and outdoors in the winter.
