Russell Coward moved to New Hampshire following 20 years as an English teacher and basketball and tennis coach in Connecticut and 10 years as a college professor preparing future high school teachers. He has been coaching JV tennis and JV basketball at Derryfield since the spring of 2013. His dual goals in both sports are to prepare players for varsity level play and also to enjoy their sports throughout their lives after graduation from Derryfield. He is also leading a group of Derryfield students on their trip to Vietnam this coming March.

Coach Jarrett "Jelly" Bennett has been coaching (various sports) for 15 years. He started his coaching career with Freestyle Skiing where he helped develop and coach youth athletes for the Olympics. While Coach Bennett did this through college, chasing his dream of being a professional athlete, he quickly transitioned into High School Lacrosse and has been coaching at the High School and Youth Level since 2010. His passion for coaching and developing young athletes into better versions of themselves both Academically and Athletically runs deep, as he continues to work with athletes at the collegiate level as an Academic Advisor. When he's not playing lacrosse, Coach Bennett plays basketball and has helped lead our high school team to a Sectional final appearance, and two league titles. His knowledge of the game of basketball and his passion for excellence on the court is something that Coach Bennett is proud of. Coach Bennett is a coach that believes in practice what you preach, so don't be surprised if you see him running sprints with the team or working on his fundamentals in line drills, albeit a lot slower now than he once was!

Coach Mike began playing basketball and tennis in middle school with his neighbor and best friend. He quickly
realized the games were a lot of fun, and also that he was pretty good at them. He joined his high school
tennis team and participated in several tournaments with them, winning some matches and
losing others, but having lots of fun along the way. He is looking forward to working with
beginners and more experienced players alike in both basketball and tennis and hopes to pass on his enjoyment of the games.
