Coed Crew

Derryfield has hosted an active and competitive rowing program for over 20 years. The sport encompasses two seasons. In the fall, the focus is on technique and conditioning in preparation for the”head” race season of three-mile rows against the clock. Novices are introduced to the sport, while experienced rowers are assembled into competitive crews. The fall program includes three regattas, the Textile Regatta, the New Hampshire Championships, and the Head of the Fish.

In the spring Derryfield’s crew team hosts and travels to head-to-head 1500-meter races against other local secondary schools. The team can be found competing at the highest levels, from USRowing’s North East Regionals to the New England Interscholastic Rowing Association Championship Regatta – even the National Championship USRowing Youth Invitational Regatta. During the summer Derryfield’s rowers love of the sport carries them across the country for rowing camps and even garners invitations to join the United States Junior National Team. Upon graduation, many team members go on to row and cox in college and after.
