    The Lyceum Gallery’s first exhibition of the 2018-2019 season, Hover: Works by Patrick Dunfey showcased a selection of Dunfey's paintings from the early 1990s to present day. Within this selection, one can notice reoccurring themes in Dunfey's work (single object focus, interest in landscape and nature, use of a limited color palette), as well as ways he has changed his art-making practice in terms of scale and his flow between precision and abstraction....

    Exploring Creativity

    Just as Derryfield offers honors and AP courses for those students who want to pursue an academic subject at a more rigorous level, the capstone experience in the visual arts department is the year-long series of electives dubbed “Advanced Studio Art.” Creative Arts department chair Mrs. Barsi notes that “the course is designed to allow students to work on individually directed goals, to create meaningful and fully developed artwork that reflects advanced knowledge of the visual arts, creativity, ingenuity, and self-expression.”

    Innovation took on a new meaning in the Middle School this past spring. As Derryfield places a growing emphasis on teaching students 21st century skills, Middle School head Mr. Blaisdell has been working in collaboration with Dr. Masoni in the STEMX department to incorporate these skills into the curriculum.   • Derryfield Players Present "Almost, Maine"

    The Derryfield Upper School Players are excited to present Almost, Maine, a play by John Cariani, for three performances on May 18, 7:00 p.m. and May 19, 2:00 & 7:00 p.m. Almost, Maine is composed of eight vignettes, each no more than fifteen minutes, plus a prologue, an “interlogue,” and an epilogue—which are even briefer than the vignettes—all taking place on the same day at the same time.
