A gift to Derryfield is not an isolated event. Like a penny thrown in a fountain, it creates ripples that extend far beyond the gift itself. Gifts make extra-curricular experiences possible, opening windows for students outside their academic day. Gifts allow for a broad array of athletic offerings, enabling students to find their own path to a lifetime of health and wellbeing. Gifts make financial aid possible, adding to the richness and diversity of Derryfield's student body.
Gifts have other effects too. Just as a penny in a fountain encourages others to throw in a penny of their own, your gift to Derryfield encourages others to give. And so the ripples spread.
There are a number of different ways to effectively support the School. The Annual Fund
is a yearly campaign that raises money to bridge the difference between tuition and and the actual operating cost of the school. Last year over 1,600 Trustees, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, alumni parents, grandparents, and friends supported the Annual Fund.
Capital and Endowment
gifts are contributions to the School that fund projects which are not supported through the Annual Fund or the operating budget. Capital gifts allow The Derryfield School to accomplish projects that are part of the School’s long term strategic plan. The endowment serves as the School’s saving account and provides 5% of the revenue for the annual operating budget.
is an opportunity to support the School through your estate plans or other assets. These legacy gifts are the foundation of support for the next generation of Derryfield alumni. Those who have notified us of their plans are members of The 1964 Legacy Society.
