We also encourage families considering entering in the fall of 2017 to come learn about our rolling admission process. This is your chance to explore and ask, ask, ask!
The program begins in the Lockwood Lyceum. Parking is available in the Middle School and Upper School parking lots. Please arrive by 5:45 to register. Siblings, other family members. and friends are welcome to attend!
Applicants who complete the process by the priority deadline of February 1, 2017 can expect to receive admission decision on March 10, 2017. Applications received after the deadline will be considered in our "rolling admission" process, and qualified candidates will be offered admission if spaces become available. Please call the Admission Office at 603.669.4524 for details on the rolling admission process.
The day begins for your family with an 8:00 a.m. campus tour and the Admission Office seeks to closely match you with a student ambassador who matches your interests and can deliver a personalized tour experience! Directly after the tour, an admission counselor will interview you and meet with your parents.

Taking the SSAT Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) scores are a required portion of the Derryfield application. Our admission process does not seek aspecific score or threshold of standardized achievement; rather, scores are useful in generating the most complete picture of the student we can obtain. A pamphlet enclosed in the Derryfield admission packet outlines how to sign up for the test at www.ssat.org/test/test-levels-middleupper. The site also contains a wealth of information about the test, including registration for free webinars on such topics as the test format and content, strategies for taking the test, and understanding the score report. When you register for the test, be sure to enter the Derryfield code, 2800, so that your scores will be reported directly to us.
Upper School applicants may take the test at any SSAT testing site listed on their website. Please note that The Derryfield School is a testing site in October, November, December, and January. You can register to take the test at Derryfield by accessing www.ssat.org/test/test-levels-middleupper. We encourage testing in November and December; this allows time for a second test if the family wishes, or rescheduling if your child should be ill or a family emergency arises.
Applicants for the tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grades may submit PSAT or SAT scores in place of the SSAT. Students who may have taken the SAT through the Johns Hopkins Program Center For Talented Youth (CTY) are encouraged to submit their scores as a supplement to the SSAT scores.
Please note that students who take the test later than January 7, 2017 national date will miss the priority application deadline of February 1, 2017. To meet this deadline, students are encouraged to register for the earlier test dates. The SSAT website, www.ssat.org, has detailed information about dates, locations and special testing accommodations.
Located in Manchester, NH, The Derryfield School is a private day school for grades 6-12. Students benefit from a challenging academic program, fine and performing arts, competitive athletics, and a wide selection of extracurricular activities.
