Application Process

Come to Derryfield to be transformed. Your passions will guide the change.

Please follow the steps below to apply for admission to The Derryfield School.

Step 1: Inquire Online

Please complete and submit the Online Inquiry Form. This will add your family to our mailing list to receive information and invitations to school events. Families with more than one child interested in applying should submit a separate online inquiry for each child.

Step 2: Visit

Derryfield hosts Information Sessions, Open Houses, and Open Classrooms throughout the year. We encourage you to join us at multiple events to learn more about Derryfield and the application process. Registration is preferred, but not necessary. Please see our event calendar for a complete listing of opportunities to visit.

Step 3: Interview

An interview is a required part of the admission process and must be completed by February 1 to meet the priority admission deadline. Please call the Admission Office at 603.669.4524 to schedule an appointment. At least one parent or guardian should accompany the applicant.

Middle School: For applicants to grades 6-8, the visit day begins with a family tour at 8:00 a.m. Applicants stay on campus for a full day, including classes, lunch, and activities while parents stay only for the tour and interviews. Applicant and parent/guardian interviews are separate and each lasts 30 minutes. Interviews are conducted from 8:30-9:30 a.m. or 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Upper School: Applicants to grades 9-12 take a family tour and stay for interviews. Appointments are available at 8:00 a.m. or 1:45 p.m. and typically last up to two hours. While upper school applicants do not spend a shadow day at Derryfield, we encourage applicants to sign up for an Open Classroom event which provides a real-time classroom experience. See our event calendar for more details.

Prior to your interview, please create a Ravenna account and begin the parent application as outlined in Step 4 below. You are not required to complete the application before your appointment.
