Sixth Grade Performs at Naturalization Ceremony
The sixth grade traveled to the Federal Courthouse in Concord on Friday, January 20 to sing during a Naturalization Ceremony in which 86 naturalized citizens from 38 countries were officially welcomed as citizens of our country. Under the direction of Laurel Devino, the students sang two stanzas of My Country Tis Of Thee, and America the Beautiful. Approximately 300 people heard Judge Joseph N. Laplante give an interesting history of our country and why so many want to become citizens. The Honorable Governor John Lynch then welcomed the new citizens with a call to service and the acknowledgement of their efforts to join our country. Take a moment to ask a sixth grader what their impression was of the experience... it will be worth the effort.
