Super Start Keys Defeat of Newmarket
Playing the roles of bad hosts, the JVs smacked visiting NewMarket with a 16-0 first quarter and rolled on to a 51-28 victory to improve to 9-1 for the season. Billy Gardner and Alex Murray each scored twice; Nat Boudreau and Newt Kershaw each made a driving layup; and Sam Fazelat and Jon Martinez each scored from the foul line.
Things settled down a bit in an evenly played second quarter, and Alex dropped in a pair of 3-pointers in the third. He added another in the fourth between two from Hunter Crawford. Logan O’Leary hit a 3 from the left wing in the final seconds to close out the scoring.
Alex led the defeat of the outmanned Mules with 17. Billy tallied 10, and Hunter added 8.
