Small but mighty!

Derryfield might not have taken the day at Mt. Sunapee for our first race, but the racers worked hard and they had fun doing it! In my 4 years of coaching at DS yesterday's race was one of my favorites to coach. Coach Donovan and I are so proud of our racers. They worked hard and were determined to do their best, that is all we can ask of them. Scores/placing are determined by combining the two runs for the race (GS and Slalom are considered two different races) Points are awarded to the top four racers of each team based on placing. Those top four points are added together to determine placing for teams. Then the four sets of points (Boys GS, Boys SL, Girls GS, Girls SL) are added together to determine the winner of the day. Some highlights include: 1. Boys were 4th overall in GS and Slalom 2. Our top boy was 8th grader, Eli O.-16th overall GS and SL. His second run for GS was the 13th best time of all boys. The second run SL was 15th best overall. 3. Our top girl was 7th grader Charlotte B.- 16th overall on GS and 13th on SL. Her second runs were also in the tops, 16th on GS and 12th best overall on SL. 4. Second runs saw almost everyone improve their times and gain some places in the overall standings.
