Sanborn Meet

Coach Goldsmith
Sanborn Meet vs Hollis/Brookline, Goffstown, Pelham, Epping, PCA, Raymond & Newmarket
The Cougars team hit the track once again on Tuesday night at Sanborn High School. With 8 other schools in attendance, there was some great competition both on the track and in the throwing sectors.

Just a few highlights from our evening:
In the shot put, Samantha Dominguez & Sarah Murphy were both only two inches off from their career best throws, placing 7th and 9th respectively. Sam Roy competed in shot put for the first time, with a strong best throw of 25' 9". Ben LaFlamme also tried out a new event as he took on the javelin, throwing 65' 11". Eliza Lamont continued the strong throwing streak by breaking her PR in the discus by over 8 feet.
Back on the track, we had some exciting PRs in the 1600 on both the boys' and girls' side. Skylar Wagner beat her previous best time by 6 seconds with a time of 6 minutes 32 seconds. The personal records continued with Matthew Farah, as he beat his previous best time by 9 seconds (5:44) and Nate Barrett beat his best time by 3 seconds (5:29). Clark Cayer also gave the mile a shot for the first time after some convincing, and completely rocked it with a time of 6:34 (and he liked it enough to try it again)!

In the 400 meter dash, senior Alex DeGregorio set a new personal record by 2 seconds with a time of 1 minute 8 seconds. Adam Henderson was up next in the 800 with a new best time of 2 minutes 41 seconds. After the 800, our sprinters hit the track again in the 200 meter dash, with Grey Donahue setting a new PR by 2 seconds (which is not an easy feat in the sprinting events)!
The cougars were also able to put together 3 full relay teams this afternoon, with both a boys' and girls' 4x100 meter, and a boys' 4x400 meter to wrap up the meet. Everyone's hard work at hand-off practices really paid off in the relays this afternoon, as each of the three teams moved flawlessly together through each exchange zone.
It's been a very successful season for all of our athletes this spring, and we can't wait to see what the end of the season will bring!
