Tennis vs. Goffstown 4/13
On Tuesday the Cougars took the court for the first time since 2019. Led by a strong group of senior captains, Max Smith, Chris Lynch, and Chris Van Natta, the team swept Goffstown 9-0. Sophomore Jack Schroeder, playing in his first match, faced a hard-hitting Goffstown number one, but quickly jumped out to a 7-4 lead. After dropping a few games, Jack overcame his nerves and put his opponent away 8-6. At second singles Chris Lynch showed nerves early and was down 3-6, before evening the score at 7-7. After a tense deuce game, Chris took control and won the match 9-7. Chris Van Natta and Max Smith at numbers three and four singles showcased their consistency and control easily putting their opponents away 8-1. The highlight of the match was our two freshmen, Jack Krasnof and Billy Gardner, who cruised to victory putting 8-0 wins on the board.
We went into doubles up 6-0, so we used the opportunity to work on doubles strategy. Chris Lynch and Jack Schroeder dominated the net and came out with an 8-4 victory.
