Derryfield vs. Holy Family game 1 and 2
The Derryfield School Girls Soccer team played two games against Holy Family Monday and Wednesday. 2020 marks the first year of the Holy Family soccer program, and Derryfield starters jump to a 4-0 lead within the first 12 minutes of both games. During Monday's game at Holy Family, Derryfield opted to play a possession game, sharing the ball among all players. In Wednesday's home game, Derryfield adjusted to allow everyone significant playing time, which revealed that the reserve players have been training strong, as they continued to move the ball. Derryfield goals came from the following players over the two games: Ingrid Bjornas (4), Jackie Connors (2), Mia Dudley (1), Lilly Handwerk (1), Hailey Ramundo (2), Christine Nadeau (3), Casey Benson (2), Lucy Licata (3), Leah Hoey (1), Charlotte Sckaal (1), Emmy Plage (3) The Derryfield defensive line kept a clean sheet and held firm in both matches, with some impressive defensive and possession plays by Lila Kelsey, Monica Barger, Julia Martin, and Sophie Brown. Derryfield will take the field Friday against Trinity seeking to continue their undefeated run.
