Davis '23 Named State Alternate in Poetry Out Loud
On Thursday evening March 5, Derryfield freshman Savannah Davis competed in the Poetry Out Loud Semi-Finals at the Currier Museum here in Manchester. Savannah movingly performed two poems: in the first round she recited Nick Flynn’s “Cartoon Physics, Part 1” and in the second round she declared Kate Bass’ “The Albatross.” In a field of seven talented young performers, Savannah handily won the honor of state alternate; a huge accomplishment for a first-time Poetry Out Loud contestant.
