Regina Assetta has been teaching English at The Derryfield School since 2012. She teaches ninth and eleventh grade, and serves as the faculty advisor for Excerpt, the school's literary magazine. She teaches the new AT English course for the juniors, a course centered around civil discourse in American culture and literature. Additionally, she teaches LEAD courses and an Exploration course on the 2020 Election. Originally from Lake Placid, New York, Regina earned a Bachelor's degree in English and Media Studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and a Master's degree from Sarah Lawrence College. Her classroom is full of swords, crowns, and other props for in-class activities. In her free time, Regina enjoys hiking, skiing, writing, and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
