Small Swim Team Places Fourth at States
The Derryfield swim team traveled to UNH on Saturday, February 15 for the D2 State swimming and diving championships. Qualifying to compete for the Cougars were Eliza Lamont (200 freestyle), Natalie Young (200 IM, 100 Backstroke), Kyra Chen (50 free, 100 free), Skylar Wagner (50 free, 100 Butterfly), Molly Mahar (100 free), and Ava Young (500 free, 100 Backstroke). Paige and Savannah Davis also joined the squad to help form relays in the 200yrd medley, 200yrd and 400yrd free relays. Highlights from the day include Kyra winning gold in the 50 free and bronze in the 100 free, Natalie taking a silver and bronze in the IM and backstroke. The 400 yard freestyle team also took home the silver. Overall the girls finished 4th. Congrats to all of the girls and Coach Conti on another fantastic season.
