A Call for Art
This is an OPEN CALL for art from any Institute of Art and Design at New England College Student, Alumni, or Community Member.
To be eligible for participation, please complete the form at http://bit.ly/LyceumGallery in its entirety and send a well lit high-resolution JPG, PNG or PDF image of your artwork work to firstname.lastname@example.org. A Local Inspiration: Art of Space, Place, & Time
Exhibition Dates: February 3 - March 13, 2020 Gallery Reception: Friday, February 7th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM
Eligibility: Seeking artwork that explores our local landscape, both literally and figuratively. How do you as an artist relate to and engage with the place that you live, work, or study in? Any Institute of Design at New England College Student, Alumni, or Community Member may submit work.
Artwork Specifications and Requirements: - No more than 3 works can be submitted - Max size for 2D work 40”x60” including frame - Max size for 3D work 12”x12”x12” (space is limited) - Artist Statement - Content must be appropriate for middle school and high school students
Insurance: While the Lyceum Gallery takes the utmost care of your work while it is in our possession, your artwork is not insured. Please consult your homeowners/renters insurance to learn about insuring your work.
Sale of Artwork: The Lyceum Gallery does not profit off of the sale of artist work. Should an interested party like to purchase artwork that is on display, we will put the buyer directly in contact with the artist who will arrange payment and delivery of the work following the close of the exhibit.
Presentation: Artwork must be labeled on the back with artist’s name, title, year and medium. Work must be suitably prepared and ready for presentation. Wall-mounted work must be properly wired for hanging. Work not suitably prepared will not be shown. All hanging decisions are up to the gallery manager.
Drop off: Signed gallery contract must accompany the artwork Thursday, January 30th and Friday, January 31st, 9am-1pm with Lindsay Coats at Fuller Hall next to special collections Friday, Dec. 31st, 2:45-4pm at The Derryfield School Lyceum Gallery (Main Entrance of Upper School)
Pick up: Friday, March 13th from 3-5 PM OR by prearranged appointment with the Lyceum Gallery. If you cannot pick up your own piece, you must make arrangements for it to be picked up. The Lyceum Gallery is not responsible for artwork that is not picked up, and has no ability to store work.
