5-0 WIN AT HOLLIS-BROOKLINE
Derryfield varsity overcame a bumpy grass field to move to 5-0 on the season with win at Hollis-Brookline. The visitors gave notice of what was to come when they scored the fastest goal in DSFH history. A quick through ball into the H/B circle resulted in a scramble in front of goal and Hannah Perlberg pushed the ball home from close range - only 30 seconds gone on the clock. Three minutes later, Derryfield were 2-0 ahead when Charlotte Gleichauf received from Lindsey Stagg during a corner and dribbled close to push a hard shot past the home keeper. Despite continuous pressure for the rest of the first half, the score remained 2-0 at half time. A feature of the second half was a hat trick by Lindsey, her 4th of the season, to round out a final score of 5-0. Overall a competent display by DS squad members, all of whom played in the game. Next up is a home game vs Bow HS on the turf on Wednesday afternoon, 4:30 pm.
