DS Girls Tennis Wins on Senior Night
The tennis team earned a solid victory against a Timberlane team playing up to its full capacity on a “senior’s night” where our seniors present were also recognized. A solid display by Erin Glosner showing her great potential as a net player ran out of time as she was settling into her game and ended at 4-8. Emma Losey in a territorial offensive position most of the time and taking shots off the air kept the pressure on her opponent throughout the match to earn a comfortable victory at 8-2. In a hard-fought match, that initially saw the leads change hands back and forth, Caroline Hines fell to a more seasoned opponent at 5-8. Serina Li again made it interesting, while concurrently raising my blood pressure, to win 7-2 in a tie-break. Caroline Desmarais won 8-1 in what turned out to be a competitive match. Julia Hardy’s game was simply too strong at #1 and easily finished at 8-0.
Going into doubles with a 4-2 lead, Abi Leonardi and Emma Place, quickly clinched at 8-0; their on-court time was only exceeded by the time they spent chatting with their opponents after the match. Miranda Shilling and Paige Grondin easily cruised to another 8-0 victory. Julia Hardy and Caroline Desmarais rounded up the doubles with an 8-2 win.
With a record of 12-1, we will close the regular season with an away match against the current #4 Nashua South.
