DS Bounces Back After Tough Loss to Central
On a bright sunny day at the SNHU tennis complex, Derryfield took on Manchester Memorial. After our loss at Central the boys spent time in practice working on their consistency and getting ahead early in their matches. This hard work paid off as the Cougars were ahead on all courts from the start. The boys did a great job closing out their matches with all courts winning in singles. Brady McGinley was the first off at #3 singles, earning an 8-1 victory. He was followed by #2 Max Smith (8-2), #4 Chris Lynch (8-4), #5 Chris Van Natta (8-3) and #1 Tyler Critz (8-3). Senior captain David Doan at #6 won the first two games, but lost focus and dropped the next five. At 2-5, David focused on the task at hand and won the next six games in 15 minutes closing out the match 8-5. After winning the match in singles, the boys proceeded to dominate the net in doubles and made short work of their opponents. At #1 Critz/Smith took out the Memorial team 8-3, Lynch/Sperduto making their debut at #2 doubles easily won 8-2, and McGinley/Doan took down the #3 8-1. Final Score: DS 9, Memorial 0
