As we move into the end of the winter sports season, many of Derryfield's student athletes are performing on New Hampshire's highest stage for high school sports. Here are recaps of state meet performances for swimming, alpine skiing, and gymnastics, as well as info about the upcoming championships for nordic skiing, ice hockey, and basketball.
Derryfield swimmers continued to break records and bring home medals at the State Championships on Sunday, February 9.
200 IM relay: State Champion - Lindsey Wagner, Kyra Chen, Natalie Young and Molly Mahar
100 backstroke: State Champion, state and pool record (54.58) - Lindsey Wagner
50 Freestyle: State Champion (23.57) - Lindsey Wagner
50 Free: 2nd - Kyra Chen

200 IM: 3rd - Natalie Young
100 Butterfly: 4th - Natalie Young
50 Freestyle: 9th - Antonio Imbriano
400 Freestyle Relay: 9th - Antonio Imbriano, Matt Weimer, John Anderson, and Alex Neville
Derryfield alpine skiing has completed its regular season and had strong performances at the state championships this week. Four skiers qualified to compete at the Meet of Champs on February 28 at Cannon: Kyle Goldberg, Charlie Butler, Miranda Shilling and Maddie Rosato.

Middle School State Meet:
Alpine Skiing had their middle school state meet at Attitash on Feb 14, where eighth grader Hailey Ramundo finished first. Jack Schroeder was the top Derryfield boy, placing 15th.
Emma Ward competed at the State Gymnastics Meet, coming in 17th (out of 149) in the All Around and 11th (out of 100) in the Floor.
Derryfield's nordic ski coach Peter Breu shared that at the Whitaker Woods race, Derryfield sophomore Katharine Gage finished 6th and was selected to the NH Under 16 Nordic Team to compete against the other New England states at a meet in March to be held in Bethel, ME. The team will compete at the State Meet at Gunstock on March 4.
Girls’ basketball ended the regular season with a 12-6 record. They go into the first round of the state playoffs seeded 8th, and will host 9th seeded Newmarket on Monday, February 18 at 7:00 p.m.
Boys’ basketball has an 8-8 record with two games left in the regular season. The first round of the tournament will be played on Monday February 25, at the higher seed.
The Derryfield & Hollis Brookline coop ice hockey team currently stands at 9-6, a vast improvement on their record from last year. They have three games left in the season, with the playoffs starting on Saturday, March 2 at the higher seed.
