Having referenced some of Butterick's work as an introduction to developing their own original typography alphabets, students were excited to speak with the designer himself! The students and Butterick exchanged questions prior to a class critique where Butterick offered feedback to the students on their own alphabet designs! Butterick had prepared a variety of resources for each of the students to review following our critique to help them with their designs in the future.

George P. Dirth '04 Memorial New Hampshire Championship Regatta Held on Sunday, October 14 Derryfield's Crew team competed in the annual event in Pembroke, NH. While the Regatta has been named for DS alum George Dirth '04 over the last several years, George's teammate and classmate Thad Duprey '04 is spearheading the effort to have the event named in George's honor in perpetuity. Thad notes: "The George P. Dirth Memorial New Hampshire Championship Regatta has been a stunning success over the past two years. Not only is the Regatta named for George, but the winners of the Junior Girls and Boys 4+ races each have their team names engraved on the Dirth cup. Each year, Derryfield alumni have come back to watch the race and stand with Lisa as she presents the cups to the winning teams."
