Derryfield Alumni and Alumni Families Celebrate on the Seacoast
Over 30 Derryfield alumni, alumni parents, former faculty, and other guests gathered on August 15 at the lovely home of Debbie and Jeff Purtell, parents of Matt ‘97 and Anna ‘98, in Portsmouth. It was an evening of connection, celebration, and learning about all of the exciting things happening at Derryfield. Over the next several years we will be implementing a new, cutting-edge academic program and building an Athletics & Wellness Center and a Science & Innovation Center to provide the physical foundation for these new programs that will transform the Derryfield experience.
Alumni and alumni parents enjoyed reconnecting and rekindling old friendships from their children’s time at Derryfield. Many guests were thrilled to see longtime faculty members and coaches Chuck Sanborn and Bruce Berk who also joined the festivities.
As the Derryfield alumni community continues to grow, we encourage alumni and alumni families to remain engaged with the School and the larger community. For alumni parents, the relationships built here with fellow parents, family members, faculty, and coaches characterize the School’s core value of community just as much as the relationships that students create during their time here on campus.
Guests at the event heard from Head of School Dr. Mary Halpin Carter and Director of Advancement Anna Moskov about the new academic program, the new facilities, and how the Derryfield alumni community can support and engage with the School as these changes come to campus over the next two years.
Keep an eye out for more events across the country as the 2018-2019 school year gets underway!
