Theatre
Artistic excellence through self-discovery, creative expression, and collaboration.
Creative Arts offerings enhance the skills taught in every classroom at Derryfield. Theatre productions and drama electives encourage students to explore the human experience by examining the world around them. By stepping outside of their comfort zones, students discover that creativity knows no bounds.
Students can participate in each aspect of every theatre production, from performing on stage or in the pit to working on the various technical aspects of a show. In theatre electives, students are exposed to different facets of performance, such as theatre history, acting technique, script study, improvisation, and character development. Students learn first-hand how theatre mirrors real life and can be used as a tool to effectively communicate new ideas.
