Varsity Field Hockey Players Attend National Showcase

Four Derryfield field hockey players from Derryfield's 2011 State Championship team were invited to the prestigious College Connection Showcase held at UMass, Amherst last weekend.
Four Derryfield field hockey players from Derryfield's 2011 State Championship team were invited to the prestigious College Connection Showcase held at UMass, Amherst last weekend. The camp, featuring most of the top 150 sophomores and top 150 juniors in the country, was attended by over 100 college coaches, hot on the recruiting trail. Rising senior captains, Lulu Carter and Atlee Coler were joined by rising juniors, Berklee and Colbi Vaillancourt for four days of intense skills training and 7v7 tournament play. Players also went through a seminar on the college recruiting process, directed by a former college field hockey head coach, gaining valuable insights into communicating and advocating for themselves in the recruiting process.
Derryfield's four field hockey stars were also joined at the camp by their coach, Lenny McCaigue, who was a guest coach at the camp and directed the skills sessions and coached a 7v7 team. The future looks bright for Derryfield field hockey!
