Preliminary Donor Report

There is never a dull moment in a Derryfield spring. The midterm is behind us, spring sports are underway, and Noises Off premieres this weekend as alumni return to campus for reunion weekend. In the midst of all this we are embarking on a strategic planning process which will lead us into the 50th anniversary of the School and beyond.

It has been an exciting, jam-packed year with Mary Halpin Carter welcomed into her new role as the eighth Head of School in January. The fall and winter athletic seasons culminated in a celebration of a number of division and state athletic championships including golf, boys varsity and middle school soccer, girls cross country, middle school boys basketball, and varsity field hockey for the third year in a row. The School offered a Global Perspective Series throughout the year including Emma LeBlanc ’05, a Rhodes Scholar who spoke of her experiences as a photographer and journalist in Syria, Scott Borgeson who addressed the issue of climate change and implications for national security and international markets, and finally the Sanborn Visiting Fellow, Kimmie Weeks, international humanitarian and activist. The performances of the middle school musical Oliver and the upper school’s Jesus Christ Superstar were truly fabulous! Also in arts news, a number of students were invited to Jazz and Classical All State, with Jerry Xiong ’14 receiving the top award, first chair for violin and Jason Berk ‘13 the highest scoring bass. Over March break we had students throughout the country and across the sea with trips to China, the Dominican Republic, New York City, and a Habitat for Humanity trip to North Carolina.

Thanks to a strong corps of volunteers at every level, we have had a very successful annual fund year so far! Thank you for what has been made possible through your generous support! It is inspiring to see so many of you listed in the following Preliminary Donor Report. Your support is essential to the work of Derryfield students, faculty, and staff. Gifts to the School enhance every student's educational experience each and every day. Please check to ensure that your name is listed accurately. This report reflects gifts and pledges received through April 15, 2013. If you have made a gift since this time, thank you! If you have not yet made a gift to the Annual Fund there is still time to make an important difference and be counted before the end of the school year.

We continue to strive to meet our $460,000 annual fund goal and, most importantly, boost our parent and alumni participation levels. Please consider joining 100% of our faculty, staff, Trustees, and Alumni Council by making a gift. If you would like to make a gift online click here or contact Alice Handwerk at 603.669.4524, ext. 6104 or ahandwerk@derryfield.org.

Remember, every gift, regardless of size, is important to our success. Your participation helps strengthen our applications for foundation grants. Please support The Derryfield School by participating at whatever level you are able.

THANK YOU!
