About Derryfield

Dear Prospective Students & Families,

Leading lives of passion and purpose... this is our vision for students, faculty, and staff at The Derryfield School. Our teachers, coaches, and advisors will help you find what you love to do and also, what the world calls you to do. Finding one’s passions takes opportunities, and you will find many of these on our beautiful, 84-acre campus where you will have a myriad of academic, athletic, artistic, service, and social experiences. Your time at Derryfield will be a personal journey during which your identity will be defined by what you love to do and what your strengths are - our faculty’s role is to help guide you on that journey. You will be challenged, you will be known, and you will be appreciated for the person you are and for the one you will become.

A few years ago, I challenged our faculty with this goal: every child inspired every day, every student transformed every year. The Derryfield faculty rise to this vision daily. They prepare each class and run each activity so that you will be developed, challenged, and supported. An education is only as strong as the adults who provide it and Derryfield’s teachers are smart, funny, passionate, and caring. It’s rare to find students in independent schools who appreciate their education as much as or who love and respect their teachers and coaches more than the students at Derryfield do.

From the first moment of your first year here, you will fully belong and possess a lifelong membership in the Derryfield family. Our mission, “to inspire bright, motivated students to be their best,” is accomplished in small classes that make your education personal and tailored to your gifts. You will grow and develop in this welcoming, close, and kind community where humor and joy matter. We want to help you become your best self. Come to our campus and experience Derryfield for yourself.
